Also out in the sun were the gopher snakes. This guy was about 2 1/2 feet long, and boy he did not like me! He coiled up and hissed at me, but better to hiss at me and get mad than to get smooshed. He was on the main road lying across it and surely would have gotten run over by a car. So I got out and eased him off of the road. But I took his picture first.
