The Huntington Gardens

The Huntington Library has a collection of rare books, paintings and fabulous botanical gardens. It is located in San Marino, CA. We didn't get to go see the books and the paintings, but the gardens were amazing! There were so many different environments with different types of plants. I definitely want to go back in the future.

This guy was lucky, because I ALMOST hit him as he ran across the road in pursuit of his girlfriend - lol.

I took a little drive to see how the fall colors looked in Kernville today. As you can see, fall is here. It was a lovely day for a drive :)

It's nealy Fall

I took a drive from Paso Robles to Los Olivos this weekend, hoping to catch some Fall color. I found some, mostly in the vineyards. But it wasn't nearly as spectacular as the pictures I have seen of the east coast. Still, it was a nice drive. I won't be taking any drives for a few weeks, as I am having foot surgery this Tuesday. I thought I better go for a drive while I still could - lol.

Gas prices have gone down!

It is about time. I thought I would never see the price of gas go below $3.00 again. Happily, I was wrong :)

Eastern Sierras and Yosemite - 7/25/08

I posted some pics of my most recent road trip to the Eastern Sierras and Yosemite National Park below. As you can see, there are still wildflowers to be found in the Sierras, especially in the upper elevations. There were lots of flowers at the Rock Creek/Tom's Place area, and up in the higher elevations in Yosemite National Park. It was a gorgeous day, and a perfect trip. My mom especially liked Yosemite's Tuolumne Meadows area. It was a lovely day, with nice, clear blue skies.
