Another birding weekend
I spent last weekend visiting a couple of places such as the Kern River Preserve, Pixley National Wildlife Refuge, Kern National Wildlife Refuge, Tule Elk State Preserve, Lake Ming and Hart Park, driving and walking around taking pictures of the birds. I was amazed by how many Sandhill Cranes were at Pixley Ntl Wildlife Refuge. It was my first visit there, and it was awesome. Hundreds and hundreds of the cranes were wintering there. They will soon be gone, flying back to their nesting grounds.

Weekend birding in Kern County
I had a great weekend. Went to my friend Ali's beginning birding workshop at the Kern River Preserve on Saturday. I learned a lot, and hopefully will be able to better ID the birds I photograph from now on. We had fabulous weather this weekend....sunny and warm. Perfect weather for a nature walk. On Sunday, I spent the better part of the day walking around Lake Ming and Hart Park with my camera in hand, looking (and listening) for birds. And we had another fabulously sunny and warm day today, too. I love that spring is on its way! Pretty soon, it will be wildflower (and road trip!) season. Woo hoo! C'mon spring!
I posted pics below. Enjoy!
