My friend Alicia and I went on a road trip to Big Sur on Friday. We stopped off in Morro Bay first to take some pictures and stretch a bit. After doing a little shopping and getting some candy, we set back off on the road.
We stopped up the highway just past San Simeon to see the Elephant Seals. There were a lot of seals on the beach. Most of them looked like they were shedding their skin. Well, they were - lol. They were shedding their winter fur to prepare for the upcoming summer.
The drive up Highway 1 was just beautiful. It was nice and sunny, although somewhat breezy and chilly. We stopped at Ragged Point for some food and more photo ops. We had wanted to go to Julia Pfeiffer-Burns State Park, but the waterfall trail was undergoing some maintenance (I had checked the website the night before we went and it said the trail was only supposed to be closed thru the 17th - oh well). So we went up to Point Lobos State Reserve instead. It was kind of foggy there and pretty cold, so we didn't stay too long. I wished it had been sunnier. But you never can really tell what the weather will be like.
It was a great trip. Hope to take more soon!
