This was my second Western Rattlesnake (Crotalus viridis) spotting of the day. I spotted this guy as I was driving down Seven Mile Road, a dirt road that connects Highway 58 to Carrizo Plain. This guy was pretty big. I would say 2 1/2 - 3 feet in length. He was lying across the road. I didn't want him to get hit by a car, so I found a stick and pushed him off the road. He didn't like it too much, judging from his coiled up stance, but at least he won't get smooshed!
